Residents in Townsend may have noticed an enhanced police presence following the report of a gunshot Friday morning.

Haldimand OPP received a call at 10:18 am November 17, reporting that a firearm had been discharged near a Town Center Drive facility in Townsend.

Officers conducted a search of the area but found no one present, no damage to property, and no injuries.
Town Center Drive has been re-opened after a closure during the investigation that remains ongoing.
Police say updates will be shared if more information becomes available.
