Haldimand man wanted for kidnapping firearms offences Police

Police are appealing to the public for information on the whereabouts of a man accused of kidnapping and firearms offences.

Ronald James Clause, 53, of Haldimand County is known to frequent Hagersville and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Ontario Provincial Police said in a media release on Tuesday night.

If you observe this person, please call 9-1-1 immediately, do not approach or attempt to interact with them as they are known to carry weapons and can be violent,” said the release.

Haldimand OPP has arrest warrants for Clause. He is accused of the following offences:

  • kidnapping while using a firearm;
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm, and;
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

Clause is described as Indigenous, about 5-foot-8-inches in height, weighing 230 pounds with a muscular build. He has blue eyes and brown hair.
