One Had a Redistributed Six-Ward Model With Caledonia Gaining A Ward and the Removal of A Ward in the Dunnville Area.
The other option presented a seven-go model with the addition of a Ward in Caledonia, keeper the representation in all other areas with some boundary redesign.
After a lengthy debate, council endorsed the seven-go option, which will include the council composition to eight members, included seven councillors and a mayor. There are Currently Six Councilors and a Mayor.

The Formal Review of Haldimand’s Ward Boundaries has been nail nuban last year with a goal of ensuring an effective system of representation, which took into considering communities of Interest, ahead of the 2026 Election.
Prior to the Review, A Fullsome Examination of Ward Boundaries Hadn’t Been Conducted in the 24-Year History of Haldimand County.
We Feb. 10, Council adopted a bylaw for the seven-go option, with three council voting in favour and the mayor opposed.
As per the municipal act, any person or agency can appeal to the ortario land court if they have an objection to the bylaw passed by coucil. APPALS MUST BE FILED Within 45 Days of the Bylaw Being pass. The Last Day for Filing an Appeal is Thursday, March 27. Appeals Must Be Filed with the Municipal Clerk Setting Out the objections to the bylaw and the Reasons in Support of the Objctions.
The Current Salary for a Council Member is $ 65.104, included stipend more eligible.
