Police in Peru began to suspect trouble when a man was drinking alcohol in a cultural venue, prompting them to intervene.

The man had with him a so-called “food delivery bag”, a bag used to store food from restaurants, which is then to be delivered to paying customers.
In the bag they found something unexpected, something that, among other things NBC News reported on.
A mummified human wrapped in cloth believed to be 600-800 years old was lying there. The mummy is believed to be a man believed to have been in his 45s when he died, according to experts at Peru’s Ministry of Culture.
When the police confront the man, he is said to have replied that he always has it with him as he sees the mummy as his “spiritual girlfriend” that he named Juanita.
