Bianca Salming mourns her late father Börje Salming.
Now she makes a strong confession about her dear father.
– He had a lot of problems when we were younger, she admits in “Morning pass in P3”.
November 24 fell asleep Börje Salming in after battling the nerve disease ALS for a long time. Swedish hockey lost one of the greatest and most beloved players of all time and tributes poured in.

But the immediate family lost the biggest thing in the form of husband, father and brother. The Salming family was with Börje until the end and did their utmost to help the icon during his last period of life.

After his passing, hockey Sweden has united in grief and showered the family members with beautiful support and admirable love. The daughter Bianca Salmingwho inherited her father’s sports genes and became a track and field athlete, now opens up about the great love she encountered during her mourning.

Bianca admits
Where many Swedes contacted to tell about how Börje Salming touched their lives.
– I have always thought that my father was loved by many and have never heard anyone say anything bad about him. But it became even clearer now in retrospect that he was celebrated mostly for what he was like as a person more than his performance. At first you are proud, but then you think: “What have you done!?”. Because it is such love, even those who are not interested in sports have something good to say. I just see it as a great role model and that’s how you want to be remembered, says Bianca when she is a guest on the radio program “Morgonpasset i P3”.

Börje Salming really treated everyone the same, no matter what your name was or what you worked with. A fine lesson passed down to his children.
– It has only been obvious to us who grew up with him. And it has been such a privilege for us, because this is how one should be and he was that towards all people. Me and my brother have also become like that, that you don’t behave differently towards anyone, it doesn’t matter who you talk to, says daughter Bianca in the interview.
– I have talked a lot with my family and he always had this in him. It came naturally and wasn’t pasted on, it was just the way he was. It was just obvious to him.

But Börje’s smooth personality could also put him in trouble. Bianca Salming remembers from her upbringing how the father wanted everyone to be ready and that it could become frustrating.
– He had a lot of problems when we were younger with saying no to things. He could not refuse but said yes to everything and was therefore stressed because he had a lot to do. He was also always afraid of conflict at home, because he only wanted everyone well. And it went wrong sometimes, just because he was too nice. I could feel sometimes: “Stand up for me!”, she admits in the radio show.
