Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa were found dead in their home in Santa Fe in the state of New Mexico on February 27.
According to the BBC, Arakawa was the only beneficiary in Hackman’s will. His three children from a previous marriage were omitted, but there is no other living beneficiary, the wealth can be theirs anyway, according to a lawyer BBC spoken to.
The estate will be tested in accordance with the inheritance right and the children would then be next in turn, says the lawyer Tre Lovell.
95-year-old and Alzheimer sick Gene Hackman probably died on February 18, when his pacemaker stopped registering heart frequencies. Arakawa is believed to have lived until February 11.
At the autopsy, it was found that Arakawa probably died due to lung syndrome caused by craftsavirus – spread by small rodents and can cause deadly infections.
