Hackers posted the credentials and passwords of Nvidia employees online, threatening Nvidia to share the source code of the RTX cards.
Hackers are increasing their pressure on Nvidia. Hacker group Lapsus$ leaked Nvidia’s DLSS source code earlier this week, giving the company until Friday to fulfill their demands. Hackers have two important demands. One was the removal of the added cryptocurrency mining limiter against crypto mining on the RTX 30 series cards. The other was that Nvidia shared the open source code of their RTX graphics card drivers.
Hackers are giving Nvidia a serious headache
Nvidia, of course, did not take these two requests seriously. After that, Lapsus$ seized 1TB of user information with its attack on Nvidia servers and Have I Been PwnedAccording to , this information is already circulating among the hacker community.
The threat message sent by the hacker group to Nvidia is as follows:
” We have one more request from Nvidia, fully release the open source code of your video card drivers – for this and beyond – for Windows, Linux and macOs. If our request is not received by Friday, all of your recent graphics cards (and releases) including the RTX 3090 TI will be released. We will publish the silicon, graphics and chipset files of the video cards you will drive, including plugins such as .v, .vx, .vg. “
The hackers ended their message by giving Nvidia an option. They threatened to keep Verilog and chipset information confidential in exchange for Nvidia’s sharing the open source code of all graphics cards for current and future cards, otherwise revealing everything they had. It is not known whether the hacker group kept their word and gave all Nvidia’s secrets to the hacker community yesterday.
