Hacker Who Leaked GTA 6 Convicted

Even though the cyber hacker who leaked GTA 6 was diagnosed with autism, he was sentenced to receive psychological support in a hospital and work in public service for life.

Last year, most of the images of GTA 6 were leaked to the internet. This successful infiltration, which was one of the biggest hacking incidents in history, resulted in a sentence by the judge.

Hacker Arion Kurtaj, Who Leaked GTA 6, Was Sentenced

British Arion Kurtaj, a member of an online hacking gang called Laspus$, was sentenced to a life-long hospital sentence, concluding that he threatened public life at a high level of risk, in line with the decision given by the judge. While staying in a hotel under police protection, he carried out the big leak; He did it using just an Amazon Firestick, a mobile phone, and the Travelodge hotel’s own television.

The online gang called Laspus$ had previously leaked the data of companies such as Uber and Nvidia, causing more than $10 million in damage to these companies. Although Arion Kurtaj was diagnosed with autism, the judge was not convinced. Deciding that the hacking required a high degree of skill and that he was a repeat of his previous crimes, he made the final decision that he be placed under hospital supervision indefinitely and serve public life.

Representatives from Rockstar Games declared to the court that this massive data leak cost the company at least $5 million and thousands of hours of its employees’ time.
