While Russia’s invasion attempt to Ukraine continues, Facebook’s owner Meta is on the agenda with a statement that shocked the important names of Ukraine.
THEY TRIED TO COVER ACCOUNTS AND PUBLISH VIDEOS
In the company’s statement, it was stated that the group named Ghostwriter managed to seize the social media accounts of the people they targeted. In the statement, it was stated that the hackers were trying to publish YouTube videos, including a video showing the surrender of Ukrainian soldiers, that the Ukrainian troops were weakened in these accounts.
VIOLATION OF THE RULES, REMOVED
In the statement made by Meta, it was stated that 40 fake accounts and pages targeting people in Ukraine, acting as a network from Facebook and Instagram in the last 48 hours, were removed on the grounds that they violated the rules. In the statement, it was stated that the groups were led by people in Russia and Ukraine.
Twitter also reported that more than ten accounts were suspended and some links that violated manipulation and spam rules were banned from sharing. The statement said that the ongoing investigation showed that the accounts were created in Russia and were trying to spread false information about the conflict in Ukraine.
