Making a wig from real hair is a very precise job, says De Boer. “Every hair is knotted.” De Boer slides her fingers over the inside of a wig where the hair is tied in a net. “The tying process takes five to six days per wig,” she says. A wig made of real hair is therefore not cheap. “One wig costs about 4000-5000 euros,” says De Boer, “which is not for everyone.”
