One of the most watched mysteries of all time has now become highly relevant – again. It was in the spring of 2007 that three-year-old Madeleine McCann disappeared on a family holiday in Portugal. She has been assumed to be murdered, or a victim of trafficking.
Now there has been a development. A 21-year-old Polish woman, Julia Wendel, claims she could be the missing girl. But Leif GW Persson expressed great skepticism in Nyhetsmorgon:
– I don’t think it is so. It’s easy because you already have all the DNA you need: the DNA of Madeleine’s parents. It will most likely turn out that she is not in the least related to Madeleine, he says.
German rapist suspected
Last year, a German convicted rapist became a formal suspect in the disappearance. He is in a prison located in the same region where Madeleine disappeared.
– I don’t believe it, says GW.
“In order to assert what I believe, you have to be on your feet properly” – listen to GW’s entire analysis in the player above.
