GW in new documentary about the Tove case: “Worries me seriously”

There is information in the Tove case that shows mistakes by the district court.
That is Leif GW Persson’s view in a new documentary film where he closely studied the case.
– Here we have a judgment that is flawed in crucial parts, he says.

18-year-old Maja Hellman and 20-year-old Johanna Leshem Jansson were convicted in Eksjö District Court for the murder of 21-year-old Tove in Vetlanda. Leif GW Persson has studied the case in a new documentary broadcast on TV4 Play – where he states that the verdict is flawed.

– If these shortcomings are interpreted in full, the prosecution against the 18-year-old must be dismissed, because it is in any case not proven beyond a reasonable doubt, he says.

“What really worries me”

There are several things that speak against Tove being murdered at the time the Eksjö district court decided in the verdict, something that could open up 18-year-old Maja Hellman’s version, Persson believes. Who also think that the murder against Hellman should be dismissed.

– What seriously worries me is the sentence against the 18-year-old. As I see the whole thing, she did not participate in the murder, she will be sentenced for violating the peace of the grave, normal degree, he says.

The details that, according to Persson, are not correct, can be found in the timeline established by the district court. Where emptying the convicted women’s mobile phones contains data where a different course of events appears more plausible, according to Persson.

According to the district court’s verdict, Tove was attacked sometime between 02.40 and 02.43, but already at 02.47 both Tove’s and the 20-year-old’s cell phone are traveling to McDonalds. Which according to GW is a highly unlikely event.

The documentary, “Leif GW: The Case of Tove”premieres on TV4 Play on Wednesday, June 14.
