Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a brutal shooter that’s all about kills – isn’t it? The YouTuber “ThatFriendlyGuy” sees it differently and has reached the max level 55 in less than 24 hours of play without any kills. How does that even work?
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 everyone is on the hunt for kills. Higher, further, better – or something like that. Even in game modes where kills are secondary to victory, Hobby Rambos add a ton of kills to their tally. That can ruin the win.
You often wish you had other players who are more focused on the “Objective”, collect opposing marks in “Kill confirmed”, keep the point in “position” or at least check the score briefly to see if you should help.
Sometimes you have the feeling that these players don’t exist. But the YouTuber “ThatFriendlyGuy” proves: they exist. Because he’s the kind of player you wish for in every round with “Objective” but never get.

Guy gets max level with no kills
The YouTuber ThatFriendlyGuy had set himself the goal of reaching the max level 55 in CoD MW2 without any kills. You can also reach level 250 through the prestige system, but at level 55 the maximum of the basic levels is reached.
Fully motivated, he went to work, had made a plan and wanted to use the shield to protect himself from enemy fire. He quickly realized that most of the gadgets that would have helped are unlocked late – the shield only at level 37.
ThatFriendlyGuy realized that Kill Confirmed and Headquarters are the best modes to get the most XP as a pacifist in Call of Duty.
First he hired himself out as a ninja loot goblin, collecting the tokens from killed teammates and enemies in Kill Confirmed. To do this, he “mocked” opponents with binoculars – this gives points for reconnaissance and if the spotted opponent is killed.
After unlocking the knife, his movement improved drastically and the decoy grenade was a game changer in terms of XP. Unfortunately far too many players know this:
Because everyone in CoD MW2 uses the same level trick, my ears will soon explode!
After a tip from his community, he switched to HQ mode. There are a lot of points for capturing the headquarters and if you survive after that, XP will continuously tick into your account.
With the unlocking of the riot shield, his playstyle changed completely. Now he could protect himself from fire, put opponents under pressure and collect a lot of XP. He needed less than 24 game hours for the 55 levels.

Everyone has their own style of play and it’s always interesting to see how some players take it to the extreme. Even in the hard-fought Battle Royale Warzone, there have already been pacifist victories: Streamer brings victory without a kill in CoD Warzone – masquerading as a “filing cabinet”.
How would you implement the challenge in CoD? Are there challenges that you set yourself or in the team when the current season is “played through”? Leave a comment on the topic.
