1,143 people saw Piteå win the derby against Boden in the Hockeyettan.
Over a thousand times more have seen the scenes afterwards – reaching millions.
– You get a very good feeling from that song, says victory dancer Gustav Marnetoft.
It was in the intervening days that Piteå beat Boden 2-1 in the tight derby. The big hero was David Granberg, who scored the 2-1 goal during extra time.
But the headlines ended up elsewhere.
After the victory, there was a big celebration in the dressing room and, among other things, new acquisition Gustav Marnetoft did his obligatory victory dance. This time, goalkeeper coach Jens Fredricson was quickly up with his mobile phone and filmed the whole spectacle.
– I’ve been doing the victory dance since I was a child, I could say. So it has stuck.
The clip eventually ended up on Tiktok, then it took off. The clip reached millions of users. Next time, Gustav wants to try to get his teammates along so he doesn’t have to dance alone.
– We had played a tough match, but I had energy left. Now they are eager to be involved, when they saw that it went so well with this one.
Explains the song choice
The song he dances to in the clip is called “Mama Laudaaa” by German Amklausi & Specktakel and is close to Gustav’s heart.
– We were on a team trip last year in Åre. Then we played this song constantly and it stuck well in our heads. It has been around ever since. You get a very good feeling from that song.
For Piteå Hockey, the season continues. On Sunday, the player bus will roll south where Sundsvall will be the opposition.
– I played there last year. Victory then and a nice dance with the family in the stands. It will be magical.
