Has been interrogated by the police • Alleged to have exposed himself to children on public transport
Former C-top Gustav Hemming has been questioned by the police and is now suspected of sexual molestation of children.
– The investigation is proceeding with customary preliminary investigation measures, such as questioning of witnesses. Due to prevailing pre-trial confidentiality, I cannot provide any further information at this time, says senior prosecutor Rebecca Rehnström in a press release.
The incident occurred in Stockholm’s public transport on August 23 last year.
The suspicion: exposed himself to children
Gustav Hemming, who was previously the leader of the Center Party in Region Stockholm and vice chairman of the regional board, is not deprived of his liberty.
It was in December last year that Hemming resigned from all his assignments and left the Center Party after a party colleague saw him on “Efterlyst”.
The television program showed images from surveillance cameras in public transport, urging people to get in touch if they recognized the man, who was suspected of exposing himself to a child on public transport.
