Shortly after the phone scam, an unknown man was in 80-year-old Gunnel’s kitchen.

The robber got away with several expensive pieces of jewelry – but before he disappeared, Gunnel managed to photograph him.

– When he slammed the door shut, I broke down, says Gunnel in “Efterlyst”, which is published at 20.00 on Viaplay this evening.

80-year-old Gunnel was out walking her dog when the call came.

The voice on the other end was both professional and reassuring. But the reason why he called made Gunnel put his heart in the pit of his throat.

– He said that I was about to be the victim of an identity theft and a robbery. He said you have 18 minutes before they start this, Gunnel tells in “Efterlyst”, which is published at 8 p.m. on Viaplay tonight.

Transferred money via Paypal

Gunnel hurried home and logged on to his computer. According to the husband’s directive, she transferred money to a Paypal account.

The man further said that a colleague was on his way home to Gunnel to help her save her jewelry.

Around 5 p.m., a dark car drove up the driveway – then everything went very quickly.

– There was a part of me that understood that something was fishy. And when I saw him come in here I felt “this is not right”. But I couldn’t stop him, she says to “Efterlyst”.

Gold jewelry worth half a million

The robber took with him gold jewelery to the value of around half a million kroner. But before he disappeared, Gunnel managed to take several clear pictures of the robber.

The man was between 175 and 180 centimeters tall and spoke Swedish without a break.

Gunnel made a report to the police, but the case was quickly dropped. How much money has disappeared is unclear as the transactions may have been stopped in time. But the jewelry is completely gone.

Like many others, Gunnel thought she would never fall for the scammers’ lies.

– I have nothing against talking about the fact that I have let myself be deceived. But I’m ashamed of myself. I feel that I can’t trust myself anymore and it’s a very unpleasant feeling, she says in tonight’s “Efterlyst”.
