Thousands are evacuating the fires in California as the battle against the flames continues.
One of those forced to evacuate is Swedish Gunilla Persson.
– I’ve heard that a thousand houses have burned down, but I don’t know if it’s my house.
Over 50,000 have been told to flee their homes due to the devastating fire currently raging in California and at least 1,000 buildings have been destroyed. On location in California is Gunilla Persson, who was forced to evacuate her home.
– It is the uncertainty that makes you so scared, says Gunilla Persson in Efter fem.
She is now safe, but can’t hold back the tears as she talks about her worries. She does not yet know if her house survived the fire.
– We are very worried and afraid.
Another Swede who is in Los Angeles is Magnus Silfvenius Öhman. He is on the border of the area where residents have been ordered to evacuate immediately.
– Right now I’m standing in a sea of smoke. Smoke and ash blow in my face so it stings my eyes and I can feel it in my lungs.
