The skiing legend Gunde Svan and his son Ferry are launching a new idea for all handy Christmas celebrants.
On Instagram, they show how you can fix your own Christmas garlands in the workshop. All you need is a lathe and aluminum.
“You light up the days with your wonderful humor and good laughs,” comments one person on Instagram.
During the 1980s and 90s won Gunde Swan62, a whopping four Olympic golds and seven WC golds in cross-country skiing. He is one of Sweden’s best skiers and sportsmen ever. These days, he is active as a presenter on television, among other things with Kompani Svan and the long-running series Fångarna på foret.
Gunde and Ferry offer themselves
Gunde is also seen a lot on social media. He shares an Instagram account with his son Ferry Swan28, who is an elite athlete in timber sports. They share videos of themselves carpentry, sawing into logs and fixing on the farm in Vansbro, which also serves as Ferry’s training room.

Among other things, they have recently posted clips of when Gunde does the impossible and walks on water, albeit frozen. This week it has been, which of course fits well this year, the Christmas theme of the film clip. The Instagram followers get to see how Ferry stands in the workshop turning aluminum. Gunde comes in and thinks the remains look like something they could hang on the Christmas tree.
– What are you doing now?, he asks.
– I’ll answer, replies Ferry.
– You don’t need to make Christmas garlands like these that will sit on the tree, do you? It’s ready to buy, he says jokingly to his son.

On the other hand, it is not only Gunde who is rapping in the Svan family. Even Ferry knows how to make the old man giggle.
– We usually say that we have to do everything ourselves. I have done this now, he says, whereupon Gunde joins in:
– These tall ones should sit from the top of the star down? Is it the star that will be at the top now?, he says and points to what Ferry is creating.

The duo’s followers enjoy the entertainment and think Gunde and Ferry are wonderful.
“Aw, aw, aw. Here are some who truanted from the turning safety course. That aside, it was genius!” comments one person who sees flaws in Ferry’s turning skills.
“You really brighten up reality,” writes another.
“You are so lovely and make me believe in everything good and beautiful that exists in the world,” writes a third.
