French writer, Guillaume Ancel is a former officer trained at the Special Military School of Saint-Cyr. Through his books, he questions both his experience of command and France’s role in Opex, particularly in Rwanda. As the war returns to Europe, he tells the story of his apprenticeship, from horseback riding to survival training, within a conservative institution disconnected from social issues. At the microphone of Valérie Nivelon, Guillaume Ancel questions the military culture of silence. Saint-Cyr, at the Grande Muette school is his latest book.
