Guide to controlling Steam Deck compatible games

Steam players can now check which games in their library are Steam Deck compatible.

Valve’s highly anticipated handheld, Steam Deck, will begin rolling out to customers who pre-order it in a few days. With the start of the device’s distribution process, Valve Steam Deck compatible It also published a page where you can check the games. However, this also revealed an interesting detail. Although the device is marketed with the promise that there will be no games that it cannot run in your Steam library, some games will not be able to run on the Steam Deck “for now” in line with the newly introduced criteria.

How can we check Steam Deck compatible games?

Check if the games in your Steam library are compatible with the Steam Deck. by logging into this page you can see.
On the new page prepared, the games are divided into 4 different categories. These:

  • Deck-Approved Games in Your Library (For Now)
According to testing by Valve, these games in your library are fully functional on the Steam Deck and work seamlessly with the Deck’s controls and display.
  • Deck Playable Games in Your Library (For Now)
According to testing by Valve, these games in your library are functional on the Steam Deck, but may require additional effort to interact or configure.
  • Unsupported Deck Games in Your Library (Currently)
According to testing by Valve, these games in your library are not functional on the Steam Deck. Valve continues to add support for more games over time.
  • Untested Deck Games in Your Library (Currently)
Valve’s testing team has not yet tested the other games in your Steam library, but we continue to test more and more games every day. Visit this page periodically to see if there are new games with the Approved tag in your library.

Although hope is given for games in the unsupported and untested category in these statements made on Valve’s page, the phrase “for now” next to approved and playable games seems a bit worrisome. According to this statement, it can be deduced that even if the games are compatible with Steam Deck, they will not be able to work in the future.
