Tomorrow Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 starts in German cinemas. The sequel marks the conclusion of the Marvel trilogy that director James Gunn launched with Guardians of the Galaxy nine years ago. Before saying goodbye to the DC Universe, he unleashes a final MCU adventure in the cinema.

As the Hollywood Reporter found out, this is a very special release. Because Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 appears in 600 (!) different versions in the cinema. But don’t worry, these are not differences in content, but above all technical details.

Typically, a Marvel film will be released in cinemas in 500 different versions. Evan Jacobs, Disney’s vice president of finishing and stereo, told the Hollywood Reporter that additional versions were created for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 to accommodate the needs of the respective cinemas to fulfill perfectly.

A big point about releasing a movie like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is about the aspect ratio that turns out can differ from canvas to canvas. If you watch the film in IMAX, the picture is significantly larger in many moments because there are no black bars at the top and bottom of the picture.
