Guardians of the Galaxy 3 star Karen Gillan teases incredibly emotional scene in trilogy finale

Beef is the best Netflix series of the year so

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be James Gunn’s (probably) last Marvel film starring the eccentric space team. This will not only be an MCU farewell for the director, but also for one or more characters. Part 3 was announced as the end of the Guardians story, which started with the first film in 2014.

In an interview, Nebula actress Karen Gillan addressed a scene in Part 3 that will bring tears to the eyes of the film crew and possibly the audience.

What Karen Gillan reveals about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Former Doctor Who companion Gillan has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2014 as Gamora’s adopted sister and has appeared in all three Guardians films, the Avengers double Infinity War and Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder as Nebula. In a report by Rolling Stone, Karen Gillan shared what it feels like to take off into space with this Guardians constellation for what may be the last time:

There’s a scene towards the end of the film that’s kind of like an end-of-an-era moment is. And everyone cried in that scene.

“when you see it” Gillan further explains, “You will realize that we were not acting. […] It felt like a goodbye. And it felt real.”

Kare Gillan as Nebula

Whether the Guardians of the Galaxy have a cinema future after part 3 is open. James Gunn’s path then leads straight into Superman: Legacy and into the DC Universe, of which he is now co-boss with Peter Safran. Anyway, if Karen Gillan has her way, then you can’t make a Guardians film without James [Gunn] make. It wouldn’t be a real Guardians movie”.

What is Guardians of the Galaxy 3 about?

Peter ‘Starlord’ Quill (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Kraglin (Sean Gunn) and Groot (Vin Diesel) are about the loss of Gamora (Zoe Saldana) still not over it. Because what came back in the Infinity Wars against Thanos isn’t her former teammate.

Now the remaining Guardians of the Galaxy are trying to adjust to their new life on the planet Knowhere. But then Rocket’s past speaks out and Peter must lead his teammates on a mission that, if they fail, could lead to the dissolution of their squad. Last but not least, the artificially created villain Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) has his fingers in the pie.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 launches on May 3, 2023 in German cinemas.
