Guardians of the Galaxy 3 review

The Guardians of the Galaxy team has now become one of the series that have achieved a trilogy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So much so that with this trilogy, we are witnessing this team being together for the last time, as mentioned before. The beautiful and pleasing part of the job was that they successfully ended the trilogy.

Here, I want to open a parenthesis and enter a little short. If you are following my articles, you already know that I am a close follower of Marvel movies. But on the other hand, I am not blindly attached to this universe. Especially the last phase was a big disappointment for me.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 review

I didn’t like the movies Love and Thunder, Multiverse of Madness and Quantumania. In fact, if we associate it with the series, I am among those who do not like the second movie. But Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is in a better line than these films I have counted and I have to say that I like it in advance. So at this point, if you don’t like these movies like me, I’m telling you at least in terms of predicting what kind of movie you will encounter.

Returning to the subject, as you know, Rocket Racoon is at the center of the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 movie. Just as we call Infinity War a Thanos movie, we can briefly call this movie a Rocket movie. As we learned the origin story of the character, the subject of the movie was built on this story. The experiments carried out by High Evolutionary are interspersed at certain points of the film, what kind of process it went through.

The character’s past story is really told with a harsh temperament like what happened to him. In fact, I must say that I was surprised and loved it so much that such a harsh origin story was told in the MCU. Of course, the film has that witty, action air of the Guardians series, but it also has a dark tone. In fact, if you are thinking of going with someone under the age of 13, I think you should think again. I liked it very much, but it can be a bit wearisome for younger audiences.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 also has important emotional twists. I can even say that my eyes filled with tears from time to time, I can say that this has happened in maybe 1-2 scenes in the whole MCU history. The pace of the movie drops from time to time with unnecessary jokes and scenes, as in every Marvel movie. When we hit the general, I can say that this James Gunn managed to keep this pace above my expectations.

In addition to most of the jokes, the jokes made on the spot really manage to make you laugh. I think the biggest problem is that Marvel tries to put a joke in every scene, but even though I don’t like it, I remembered how funny it can be when used properly.

High Evolutionary portrays a character obsessed with perfection and playing godlike. In the scenes where he goes to the past, it is emphasized how cruel he is especially. It is often underlined that he is strong and what he can do. In the final sequence, we have to admit that this balance of power has deteriorated a little. Just like in Adam Warlock. This character seems to have been added to the movie for a bit of marketing, but I didn’t find it strange the way Adam Warlock was included in the story.

Normally, perhaps the most important character of the Infinity Gauntlet story has been transferred to the MCU, albeit with a delay. The problem of balance of power also arises in this character. I didn’t hang out much, but the point that Marvel fans will be most stuck with about the movie is definitely Adam Warlock. Will Poulter played his part well. Although he does not have much work to do in terms of the existence of the character, he manages to stand out both in the action scenes and in some parts.

One of the things I liked about Guardians 3 was that the visual effects didn’t grin excessively. As is known, this is Marvel’s biggest problem lately. We saw how much criticism this issue received, especially in the movie Quantumania. In this movie, though, similar scenes were entirely CGI-created, but I wasn’t as bothered as in Quantumania.

Apart from a few scenes, I can say that with the help of the tempo of the movie, I am glad that there was no place that caught my eye. There is also a corridor scene in this regard, which became one of my favorite sequences of the movie. You’ll know what I mean when you watch it.

Considering that it is the last film of the team, I can say that I also liked the character handling. We witnessed how the team grew up and became a family, as they were guests in the well-known three films, spin-offs and other stories. The awkward situation between Peter Quill and Gamora at this point is beautifully rendered. Moreover, each character has its own character development.

Despite the frictions within the team, how connected they are to each other is also well emphasized. James Gunn fixed the mistakes made in the previous movie and did his best to make the finale of the trilogy more effective. He succeeded in making people watch the traces of this, both in the script and in the process, and the way to the final.

All in all, I liked the movie, it even gave me hope for the MCU again. The process of Warlock will be discussed, the tempo problem from time to time, and Marvel’s biggest problem in my opinion, the constant effort to add humor continues. But if we leave these aside, the action is good, the jokes are good, but more importantly, the storytelling is striking. I left the movie theater very happy.

Guardians of the Galaxy movie review - 4

The easy-to-speak Guardians of the Galaxy have been in our lives for almost 10 years. In this movie, a competing story and finale were presented on their behalf. There are two more scenes at the end of the movie. They are not very important scenes for the MCU. On the other hand, it can be said that the team gave little crumbs about how the Guardians of the Galaxy, which we saw for the last time, can continue on the MCU side.
