New features and emotes are constantly being added to Destiny 2 to spice up the gameplay and provide Guardians with ways to express themselves and have fun. But one newly discovered emote combo really packs a punch: Guardians can now throw alien babies!
The Guardians now have this new hobby: Actually, the Guardian Games 2023 are taking place in Destiny 2. But the players have completely different things in mind that can be done in the game.
By a funny coincidence, a new, albeit macabre, “mini-game” was discovered in Destiny 2: Alien Baby Toss.
Since then, sweet and innocent Eliksni babies have not only been thrown through the air as if they were harmless balls. The sweet little ones are even thrown ice-cold into deep gorges.
Guardian Zao_ambrosia shared a short video on Reddit showing him doing the dark deed and carrying the sweet, innocent specimens from the Tower of the Last City to the song Fly like an Eagle, the Space Jam soundtrack. At the end, its keeper makes a triumphant gesture. He comments: “Love this emote now”.
How do you come up with such an idea? Well, having Guardians throwing Eliksni babies was certainly not what Bungie intended, but it still works. A “free throw” makes it possible.
More precisely: the combination of two emotes. By keeping part of the first emote and activating the second shortly after, a whole new action is created. This has been possible in Destiny 2 for a long time, but it’s never been this crazy before.
Players now throw away everything else too: But that’s not all that can now be thrown thanks to the new Free Throw emote. Because after the alien babies, the guardians tried all the other emote combinations with it.
For example, player TrentIsNotHere noted that the Feline Art emote also works. That means you can also throw cats. Only one thing was spared – the Colonel of Cayde-6. This chicken isn’t ready to jump off a cliff in 2023 either.
On the other hand, dribbling worms also works well, as you can see here:
Some see the action critically: However, this new occupation of the guardians is also viewed critically, although the video has received over 2.7k upvotes so far.
Guardian iGingerWaltonSt posted the hashtag #JusticeForEliksniBabys under the Reddit post. Finally, the throwing of the babies could be interpreted as violence against these innocent creatures.
However, you can also look at it from the other side: It’s just a game! And it was almost to be expected that some guardians would be thieving for being able to throw sweet and innocent creatures from the tower.
No matter how you want to see it: The guardians have once again managed to create a new opportunity for fun from a supposedly harmless action by Bungie. And who knows, maybe “alien baby throwing” will become a new trend in Destiny 2 very soon.
Do you own the two emotes and are you going to try this combination now? What else do you think you can throw? Or is that too wild for you? Feel free to tell us in the comments.
