GTA 3 and Vice City Are Leaving Netflix Mobile Game

GTA 3 and Vice City, two important games in Netflix’s mobile game catalog, will be removed from the service next month.

GTA 3 and Vice City were two important games that increased the popularity of Netflix’s gaming division. However, these two games will no longer be included in Netflix’s mobile game library as of December 13. The Netflix app lists this date as the “last day to play” for both games. On the other hand, such a deadline has not yet been specified for GTA: San Andreas. This means subscribers can continue playing CJ’s story at no additional cost.

Netflix Removes GTA 3 and Vice City Games with Expired Licenses

In a statement on the subject, a Netflix spokesperson said, “Just like TV series and movies, games will be removed from Netflix when the licenses expire.” “Players will see the ‘Leaving Soon’ badge and will be notified by the app well before it is removed,” the spokesperson added. The fact that Netflix removed these two games exactly one year after adding them to its library shows that it initially made a 12-month agreement with the publisher Rockstar.

Earlier this year, Netflix said that the GTA trilogy, including GTA 3 and Vice City, increased game participation by the end of 2023. He even claimed that some people signed up just to play these games. However, Netflix has recently scaled back its ambitions in the gaming field somewhat by shutting down a studio with major developers working on a AAA-quality game. Still, the removal of GTA 3 and Vice City is not expected to significantly impact Netflix’s overall gaming strategy.

After saying goodbye to the GTA series, there are different options to fill the gaming gap. “Hades”, a fast-paced action game with a mythological theme; “Spiritfarer”, a management game with an emotional story where you carry souls to the afterlife; “Into the Breach”, a turn-based science fiction game for those who love strategy and tactics; “Oxenfree”, an adventure game full of supernatural events set on a mysterious island; and “Stranger Things: 1984,” an action-adventure game in the retro style of the popular series.
