Highlights of the 2023 year-end report for the county’s Economic Development and Tourism Division include 246 new establishments opening their doors and 2,024 more jobs during the period of 2019 to 2023.

“Despite uncertainty associated with national economic pressures, 2023 was a rewarding year for the County,” said Zach Gable, director of economic development and tourism. “The County offers a well-balanced portfolio of businesses and industries that create a stable and diversified base for our community.”
The year-end report highlights major industries in Brant and showcases the support the business community can receive from the economic development team.
The County of Brant offers Community Improvement Plan funding, a Business Retention and Expansion program, and Digital Main Street programs aimed at supporting area businesses with resources and expertise to help them succeed.

Last year, the County of Brant co-hosted the Ontario 55+ Summer games that attracted more than 1,000 participants to the area, while the inaugural Brant Celebrates Culture Days saw 34 local events put on by community organizations.
For 2024, county staff are implementing the Arts, Culture, and Heritage Strategy, as well as the Economic Development Strategy to enhance economic growth and community development.
