Experts in Japan have succeeded in developing a vaccine against zombie cells, which appear with aging, cause many diseases and increase the risk of death.
Professor at Juntendo University Dr. The team led by Toru Minamino announced that thanks to the vaccine, whose test results were published in the journal Nature Aging and tested on mice, a decrease in zombie cells, also known as senescent cells, was achieved.
ZOMBIE CELLS REDUCE
The team, who applied the vaccine they developed within the scope of the study to the experimental mice, confirmed that the zombie cells that cause atherosclerosis showed a decrease in the areas where they cluster.
Stating that the findings point to the effectiveness of the vaccine, Minamino said, “We can say that the vaccine can be used to prevent atherosclerosis, diabetes and other diseases caused by aging.”
CAUSES HEALTH PROBLEMS
Zombie cells that appear with aging are known as cells that refuse to die even though they stop dividing.
Zombie cells, which damage nearby healthy cells by secreting harmful chemicals, cause diseases such as diabetes, atherosclerosis, osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s as they accumulate in the human body.
The scientific world continues to work on zombie cells and drugs that can eliminate the health problems they indirectly cause.
