Twitch streamer Erik “Gronkh” Range had to undergo a tax audit that lasted a year. Now this is finally over and he can look forward to a large sum that has to be paid back by the tax office.
What did Gronkh have to do? Gronkh had to undergo a tax audit, during which the tax return submitted is checked. This is usually very time-consuming, as all the evidence for the information provided has to be collected and submitted later.
Who receives a tax audit is randomly selected and, depending on the case, can take a long time. Tax audits ensure that no taxes have been evaded.
The tax office does this in order to, in the best case scenario, still get taxes. But the exact opposite can also happen, as in the case of Gronkh.
We introduce you to Gronkh’s career in our video:
1 year tax audit for a six-figure sum
Why was the tax audit so complex? In a Twitch stream, Gronkh says that the tax audit lasted a total of a year because the tax office tried to prove something. Gronkh therefore had to find and submit a lot of documents.
According to him, the tax office didn’t want the work they had already put into the audit to go to waste.
What’s the score? Gronkh shared the outcome of the tax audit with his viewers on Twitch: “It turns out that I will now get a six-figure amount back.” (via twitch.tv). The Twitch streamer did not give the exact number.
Gronkh laughed and thanked the tax office and said with a smile: “That was the result of the tax audit. So thank you very much! That was my Christmas present for this year.”
In the end, the extensive work and money that the tax office put into the tax audit only benefited Gronkh himself and not, as the tax office might have hoped, them.
Gronkh is not only lucky when it comes to tax audits. He doesn’t seem to be left empty-handed in other areas either. With his internet provider Telekom, for example, the Twitch streamer also has an advantage because he is dependent on stable internet: “Don’t hate me” – Gronkh reveals what preferential treatment he gets from Telekom as a Twitch streamer
