In an interview with Today’s news explains the CEO of Parks and Resorts Christer Fogelmarck that the criticism has been good for the design of what you want to achieve.
– The plan that now exists would not have been as good without the critics. I can be humble and say that.
And the plan is for the new part of the amusement park to be completed and ready to open in 2028.
We will submit building permit applications that are within the framework of what we are allowed to do according to the detailed plan. We have our financing ready and we have a clear vision for what we want. Therefore, we believe that schedule is realistic.

The amusement park has now submitted building permit applications for an extension covering a full 8,000 square meters that is planned right next to Liljevalchs on Djurgården.
In a press release, CEO Christer Fogelmarck explains how the new area will be designed and where the inspiration came from.
– Gröna Lund’s new area will draw inspiration from bygone times and specifically the Stockholm exhibition that took place in the same place in 1897. The historical connection will characterize the architecture, but we also want to take note of the positive spirit and inventiveness that the era was characterized by, he says.
