Grocery stores need to improve – have misleading cover prices

After the Swedish Consumer Agency’s review, several large food chains receive criticism for their advertising leaflets. On the list of companies we find Willys, Hemköp, City Gross and several Ica stores.

According to the Swedish Consumer Agency, the stores’ advertisement sheets give the impression that the price of several products has been reduced, but it does not always say what the previous lowest price was. This is against the Price Information Act.

Must improve

Now the food chains are tasked by the Swedish Consumer Agency to report what they will do about this and they must be ready by August 7 at the latest.

The Ica stores that were examined are Ica Kvantum in Falkenberg and Västra Frölunda, as well as Ica Maxi in Kristianstad, Haninge and Linköping.
