A man in his 50s has been arrested by the Norwegian criminal police, Kripos, on suspicion of inciting crimes against humanity in Cameroon.
A detention hearing is held in the Oslo District Court on Wednesday afternoon.
“We are in the early stages of the investigation, and there are several investigative steps that remain,” says prosecutor Anette Berger at Kripos in a press release.
She states that it is the first time a person in Norway is suspected of inciting crimes against humanity.
According to Kripos, the man has a central role in an ongoing armed conflict in Cameroon.
