Climate activist Greta Thunberg is present in the Malmö District Court, where she is on trial today. She is charged with disobedience to law enforcement after a climate action in the oil port earlier this summer.

Shortly after 11 o’clock, Greta Thunberg arrived at the district court. She did not answer any questions from the media on the way through security.

Outside there were some people gathered from Take Back the Future, the organization that organized the protest action in the oil port.

People from Fridays for future are also present.

– It is regrettable that they criminalize climate activists and not those who pollute and threaten the earth and the future of life, says Anders Gierz, active in Fridays for future and Scientist rebellion.

It was on June 19 this year that Greta Thunberg, together with several other climate activists from the Take Back the Future movement, tried to block the entry and exit of tankers at the Oil Harbor in Malmö.

According to the indictment, Greta Thunberg has refused to obey the police’s order to leave the scene. At least two other people who participated in the action have also been charged with disobedience to law enforcement. They will be arraigned later in August.
