Just hours after Greta Thunberg was sentenced to a day’s fine in the Malmö district court, she is on her way to a new climate action.
– We are back here in Oljehamnen in Malmö because it is clear that our resistance is needed, says Irma Kjellström, press spokesperson for “Take back the future”.
Earlier today, Greta Thunberg was sentenced to 30 daily fines of SEK 50 for disobedience to law enforcement when she refused to obey a police order in connection with a demonstration on June 19.
– We have to remember who the real criminals are, who it is that puts people in danger, told TV4 Nyheterna after she received her sentence.
Now, just hours after she left the Malmö district court, she and members of the organization “Take back the future” are on site at another climate action – this time also in the Oljehamnen in Malmö.
At least nine activists on site
Shortly after 3 p.m., nine activists sat at the entrance to tankers that fill up fossil fuels to transport out to different places in the country.
– Fossil fuels are a direct threat to our lives and contribute to the suffering and heat we have seen recently, says Irma Kjellström.
How long they will stay has not been determined.
– We will stay here for a while, I don’t know how long.
