Climate activist Greta Thunberg donates two million kroner to the Sami village of Jåhkågaska, via the foundation that bears her name.

The money will be used for the village’s work towards plans for a new iron ore mine in Gállok/Kallak in Jokkmokk municipality.

The village’s resistance protects biodiversity, carbon storage and clean water and air, she writes on Instagram. The issue of the mine has been dragged into the long bench. In March, the government gave the green light to the company Beowulf to continue the process.
