Xavier Dorison, Denis Bajram, Brice Cossu, Alexis Sentenac and Yoann Guillo pay homage in comics to one of their childhood heroes: “Goldorak”. A new adventure of the most famous giant robot in the universe validated by the master Gō Nagai in person. A magnificent album, a hectic adventure.
The first episode of “Grendizer” is a Japanese animated series, based on the manga by Gō Nagai, published three years earlier in Japan, under the name “Grendizer”. Grendizer is a steel colossus with big yellow horns, metal elephant-leg pants, and a few hyper-effective weapons, astero-axes, mega-volts and other blasting fists.
A robot piloted by Actarus, the prince of Euphor, in exile since he managed to escape the slaughter of his people by the forces of Vega. He found refuge on Earth, and aboard Grendizer, he in turn defends it against the Golgoths, the combat robots sent there too by this Vega empire thirsty for conquest.
A humanist and ecological epic that will delight a whole generation of toddlers. But also the little one Xavier dorison, future comic book writer, an inventor of stories of all kinds, from historical drama to anticipation, including adventure or western, or the little one Denis bajram, another essential figure in comics known in particular for Universal War.
Today they both realize a dream: to take back the hero of their childhood, and invent a new adventure for him. After obtaining the blessing of Grandmaster Gō Nagai, they formed their own Eagle Patrol, with Brice Cossu, Alexis Sentenac and Yoann Guillo.
The album available from Kana editions is absolutely magnificent. It is very elegant and very soberly titled “Goldorak”.
