GreenItaly Report, Prete (Unioncamere): “Green investments drive growth and employment of Italian companies”

GreenItaly Report Prete Unioncamere Green investments drive growth and employment

(Finance) – “The data in the report goes in this direction. We have that the companies that in recent years are a third of Italian companies, which have done investments in the environmental field they are the companies that employed the most, that exported the most, that produced the most and therefore they invoiced more. So it’s one an unavoidable choice to respect the environmentto invest in renewable energy”. He declared it Andrea Prete, President of Unioncamere, commenting on the data emerging from the GreenItaly Report, now in its fifteenth edition.

“Many companies, – continues Prete – for example, with investments in photovoltaic they have obviously made their energy needs more efficient and this has given them an advantage. These are choices that therefore pay off and today we are certainly in a phase where there is a slight slowdown, but the road is clear. Certainly we must keep in mind technological neutrality because we do not necessarily have to choose one path, but we can choose multiple paths with the aim, obviously, of respecting the environment and respecting emissions, given that the 2030 target was to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by less than 55%.

“THE’Italy is on the right track. Probably this goal will not be achieved because we would have had to install 7 GW per year in the 10 years before 2030 of renewable energy. This goal has not yet been reached, even if 5.2 GW of photovoltaics were installed last year, so the trend is positive. They were not installed because Italy is a country where then the authorization problem of the obstacles of the territory is still very present”.

“There is a segment of companies, especially the smaller ones, which, however cultural and economic reasons, they have some difficulty approaching this transition. But I believe that it is not just a cultural problem, it is that in some way we need to facilitate this process. So industry 5.0 that the latest program, which also concerns the resources of the PNRR, goes in this direction. That is, theincentive it’s done if I invest in the expansion, in technology, and therefore in the digitalisation of my business but at the same time I also have to invest from the Green aspect. It’s obvious that sometimes it is not easy let’s say to report these resultsbut I believe that a simplification process must certainly be done and I know that it is being done to this extent precisely because we cannot create an obstacle to a path that everyone wants to follow and who then have a problem linked to an excess of papers to write”, concludes the President.
