In order to decarbonize air transport as quickly as possible, the State will put its hand in its pocket, promises Emmanuel Macron. During the visit to the Villaroche factory (Seine-et-Marne) of the Safran company, this Friday, June 16, the president announced several investments, including 300 million euros per year between 2024 and 2030 to help the sector to develop new engines, new devices and biofuels.
He added that 200 million euros of public and private money would be allocated to the development of small electric or hydrogen planes, and that a comparable sum would go to biofuels for aviation.
Emmanuel Macron also announced the upcoming installation of a biofuel plant in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. BioTJET, carried by the company Elyse Energy, is “a biofuel project” which “will open in Lacq, in a region that knows energy well”. This future opening “will create 700 direct jobs”, ie 100 on the site and 600 on all recycling players, said the Head of State.
