Green light for Thunberg’s lawsuit by the state: “Illegal climate policy”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Environmental activist Greta Thunberg’s and hundreds of other young people’s lawsuit against the state will be tried in court. It is clear since the Nacka district court on Tuesday issued the summons against the state. The lawsuit was filed by the youth organization Aurora in November last year. The District Court has now concluded that the group’s claims are clear enough to be tried in court. – It is precise enough to be able to reprocess it simply, says councilor Olof Roos. Many more were behind the application, but in court there are a total of 300 people in Aurora who will be behind the suit. Duty to act The young people want a court to establish that the state has a duty to take certain specified measures to limit climate change. The preparations have been going on for two years and in its application the organization writes that the Swedish climate policy is illegal. According to Aurora, the state is lacking on several points, among other things, there is a lack of surveys regarding what proportion of the global climate work Sweden should be responsible for. – It is a sign that the state’s climate policy is not only inadequate but also illegal. We have set climate targets that are nowhere near the Paris Agreement, says Anton Foley, spokesperson for Aurora to TV4 Nyheterna.
