The Utrecht Monitor shows that Utrecht scores highest in the EU ranking of economically competitive regions. The highly educated working population lives in Utrecht. There are 301,000 jobs for 362,000 inhabitants. The labor market is the tightest in the Netherlands. Utrecht has the greatest shortages in healthcare. The figures also show that entrepreneurs are increasingly getting into trouble due to, for example, the corona crisis, the Ukraine war, inflation and the energy crisis. This leads to more financial worries and payment problems.
