US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Turkey after the earthquakes. Completing his visit to Turkey, Blinken met in Athens, the capital, by Greek Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis to hold talks. According to the news of CNN Greece, Bilnken also thanked Greek Prime Minister Miçotakis for their support during the earthquakes in Turkey.
“OUR HEART WAS BROKEN DUE TO THE DISASTER”
After the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, Greek Prime Minister Miçotakis said, “We are heartbroken by the disaster in Turkey. I know you come from Turkey. We are all in deep sorrow because of this humanitarian disaster that struck our neighbor. “We were the first country to send a search and rescue team to help,” he said.
“WE HAVE TIES BETWEEN OUR PEOPLE”
Stating that there is a deep bond between the Turkish and Greek peoples, Mitsotakis said, “We may have important and major political problems, but we have ties between our peoples. I hope that there will be an opportunity for us to improve our relations and build on this spiritual bond, which is the Eastern Mediterranean in general.” I believe it will be beneficial for stability in the country,” he said.
