Dendias, the first European minister to visit Turkey since the disaster, was met by his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Cavusoglu, Greek TV channel ERT reports. The two will visit hard-hit Antakya where Greek rescue workers are helping search for survivors and the dead.
Despite disputes over land and energy issues between the two countries, Turkey and Greece have a tradition of helping each other in the event of natural disasters.
The Greek government has so far sent 80 tonnes of medicines and first aid equipment to Turkey. Discussions on further ways to help Turkey are promised.
