The Greek authorities asked UEFA on Monday (April 11th) to ban Marseille fans from attending their club’s Europa League Conference quarter-final second leg on Thursday at PAOK Salonika because of the violence that occurred in the first leg. During the first leg played last Thursday in Marseille, won 2-1 by the French team, serious incidents between supporters took place, both around the stadium and in the city. This ban, if decided by UEFA, may only be in principle because an official of one of the main groups of Marseille supporters told AFP after the first leg that the planned trip to Greece was canceled.
