Greek accounts of the disaster are being questioned

New data suggest that the migrant ship that sank off Greece was in roughly the same spot for at least seven hours before the sinking – contrary to the Coast Guard’s reports. This is stated by the British BBC.

The BBC bases its conclusion on GPS data from other ships that moved in the area, including Lucky Sailor who provided those in need with food and water.

The Greek coastguard claims the vessel was heading steadily towards Italy and rejected offers of help.

Over 600 people are feared to have drowned when the ship sank on Wednesday evening.
