The Greeks are called upon to return to the polls “perhaps on June 25”, outgoing Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis hoped, after a meeting on Monday May 22 with the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou. His New Democracy party won a much larger victory than expected in the legislative elections on Sunday: despite 40.79% of the vote – the best score for the Conservative Party since 2007 – this is still insufficient to obtain a majority in government.
