Greece At least 150000 hectares of vegetation burned in fires

In Greece, at least 150,000 hectares of vegetation have gone up in smoke this summer, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced Thursday, August 31. The most important drama took place in the north of the country, on the border with Turkey, with more than 81,000 hectares burned, according to Copernicus, the European information system on forest fires. In this area which includes Dadia National Park, a partly protected area, the fires have still not been extinguished.
