A young man was taken away by several men after a fight in Mellerud last night, according to information given to TV4 Nyheterna.
This morning he was found in the Gothenburg area and several people have been arrested, suspected of kidnapping.
– We have an operation due to a serious crime, says Hans-Jörgen Ostler at the police in Väst.
The police were alerted that a fight broke out at a gas station in Mellerud late last night and that a young man was taken away in a car against his will, according to information to TV4 Nyheterna.
Circumstances must have emerged early on that led the police to suspect that the man had been the victim of a serious crime. A preliminary investigation into kidnapping was launched.
According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the police also chose to classify the case as a so-called special incident, which means, among other things, that extra resources can be brought into the search work.
Details: Connection to network
After a major effort last night, the police were able to arrest three men in their 20s. According to TV4 Nyhetern’s information, at least one of them has connections to network crime in Gothenburg.
The police carried out several raids on different addresses and were able to find the victim unharmed in the Gothenburg area this morning.
According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the police are working on the theory that the motive for the suspected kidnapping is a larger debt.
The police have been very tight-lipped about the case on Tuesday and only stated that an operation started late last night.

Later in the afternoon, the police confirmed the information and stated that the three men were arrested on reasonable suspicion of kidnapping.
