In Beddingestrand outside Trelleborg, Carina Öjvindsson and her husband have received children for their family home for about 17 years. Today they take care of four children from Malmö and Trelleborg. – We have followed many children who have succeeded and it spurs one to continue, says Carina. Investigation of quality In Malmö there are approximately 100 family homes and in Gothenburg 400. There is also a shortage in Stockholm and Luleå, for example. The government appointed an inquiry in the autumn to review both the quality and accessibility of family homes and HVB homes. And in Malmö, several projects have been started to get more and different families to receive children in need.
