Prevolution isn’t about statues of liberty sticking out of the sand and spectacular sci-fi twists. Rather, the film explores the touching relationship between scientist Will Rodman (James Franco) and monkey Caesar (Andy Serkis), which eventually tragically swallowed up by interspecies wars.
The theatrical success of Planet of the Apes: Prevolution was followed by the sequels Planet of the Apes: Revolution and Planet of the Apes: Survival. A fourth part of the sci-fi saga is already being planned.
