When registration closed at midnight on August 23, a total of 49,762 people had registered for the autumn university entrance examination. The test will be conducted on October 23 in about a hundred locations in Sweden and in Mariehamn on Åland – and there is great interest in writing it, according to Director General Eino Örnfeldt at the University and College Council.

“The number of notifications this fall is back to the level that prevailed before the corona pandemic,” he says in a press release.

As of this year, anyone who wants to write the exam must be at least 18 years old in the calendar year in which the exam is conducted, or have started high school earlier than the calendar year in which the person turned 16

In 2020–2021, only a limited number of people could register for the exam, but the restrictions, imposed due to the pandemic, have now been lifted.
