Fans have been waiting for a new part to appear for 17 years, but have to give up hope: Although the Russian fantasy film Night Watchers is based on a series of novels that had six main parts, there was only one sequel. You can treat yourself to the first part on TV today.
Watchmen of the Night is on TV today: What’s it about?
For over 1000 years there has been peace between the so-called Others, made up of beings of darkness and light. However, this peace is crumbling and is on more than shaky ground. In Moscow in the 1990s, Anton (Konstantin Khabenskiy) first has to learn the hard way what goes on in secret without people’s knowledge. by Sergei Lukianenko. A sequel, Guardian of the Day, was published in Germany in 2006 and 2007 respectively. It’s called the same as the second book of the original, but again mainly tells stories from the first book. However, both films also take a lot of liberties and change a few things.
After Guardian of the Night and Guardian of the Day, Sergei Lukianenko four more main parts of his extremely successful novel series published: Guardians of Twilight, Guardians of Eternity, Guardians of Tomorrow and The Last Guardians. Schuschpanov Arkadij even wrote three Guardian books with Lukianenko’s support.
So it would more than enough material to breathe new life into the impressive and dark fantasy world. If necessary, we would of course also take a large-scale series that simply remakes all the books from the beginning.
